Backstage News on Recently Released WWE Stars’ Creative Decisions, How Some Plans Never Get Started

Fightful Select has released a new report on several stars who were just part of WWE’s latest Cup series, and if they had any plans to create while they were still in the business. The highlights are below.

– One of the cut talents was Katrina Cortez, best remembered for her temporary team with Sin Cara to replace Andrade and Zelina in 2019. Reports indicate that there were never any major plans for Katrina one Once that brief feud was over, something Sin Cara told the publication when he was released.

-WWE was apparently looking to use Scarlett Bordeaux as a wrestler, but that never materialized. Many behind the scenes have pushed to pair her up with Karrion Kross and get their NXT number together, another idea that has landed on deaf ears.

– Speaking of Kross… the rumors were that he had drawn some heat backstage. His reservation was strongly questioned by many behind the scenes, and many argued that the direction he was going was not correct. Fightful later adds that all of his new additions to the main roster were not his idea. This is also confirmed for Keith Lee, who said on social media that adding “Bearcat” to his name was not something he wanted.

-Mia Yim didn’t wrestle for WWE at all in 2021. There were reported plans for her to do shows before the draft, but they were all rejected and never took off.
