Shotgun Willie’s ends bankruptcy case because it is profitable again

Shotgun Willie has the latest information about Bankruptcy protection and Bankruptcy Headquarters.

Eight months after filing, Glendale Strip Club pulled the plug on the Chapter 11 process.

Shotgun Willie’s wasn’t declared bankrupt in the conventional sense. Instead, a plan was put in place to reorganize. Instead, the club at 490 S. Colorado Boulevard was declared bankrupt. The judge refused to close the case until mid-July as he was not interested in the protections of the bankruptcy process.

“With the rolling out of effective vaccines as well as the lifting occupation restrictions and guidelines regarding masks or social distancing Debtor’s businesses has stabilized.” The club stated in a July 16 Judicial filing.

Shotgun Willie’s – majority shareholder Deborah Dunafon is the wife of Glendale’s Mayor – attributed November’s initial file to pandemic trading restrictions.

The club was closed more than two months in 2020 spring and for 44 days last month. According to the file it was closed for six additional days in April, “following a COVID strain among many employees.”

Shotgun Willie’s restaurant isn’t one you can just order takeout.

The club filed in July that it stated that the debtor didn’t have any other business opportunities than traditional restaurants.

Although the club requested that the bankruptcy case be dismissed, it noted that Gov. Jared Polis lifted all remaining pandemic restrictions for bars and restaurants in the early days of July.
